Blogger Glitch??

Pics in my sidebars seems to be overlapping. And I'm just wondering if you guys see the same thing I do. I've noticed it on other bogs too.

For those who already work with blogger, it seems that when you want to modify the "picture" gadget to check the "shrink to fit' box, you have to specify a Title for it. You never "had to" before. Most of mine don't have a tittle title.  So I just canceled the mod, but I don't like the overlapping, especially if the sidebar pics overlap over the posts.

A Little insight from the blogger world would be appreciated. Maybe it's just a glitch and tomorrow it will be back to normal, but if it's a permanent blogger change, then I have some tweaking to do... The simplest thing would be to widen my sidebars, which I'll try first of course, but I don't like taking away from my posting space in the middle... oh well. I'll figure the right balance.

mostly wanna know if the overlapping is visible to you guys and if other bloggers have this issue also. And Thanks for putting up with me... ;-)

Solutions....

Here is what I'm doing. Maybe this will help other frustrated bloggers. I first tried adjusting the width of my side bars to fit the suddenly bigger pictures. Not a good idea. Takes too much change to make them fit, it skews everything off. Put it back to my personal default widths.

On to plan B. Tweaking the individual gadgets. Simple ones first. I'm assuming you still have all your sidebar pics stored somewhere. It's obviously easier if you do.

Tried a few and it works. I picked out the picture gadgets that already contain a title. Bring it in edit mode. Click "Remove Picture" to give you access to the little check box that's hiding underneath. What a fucked up place for that thing to be, it should be below, not lost under the picture?? Anyways, that's where it is, so get rid of your pic, check that little box, then reload your picture. And voila, That gadget should be back to it's original glory.

Next I'll take care of the ones that don't have any titles. Gotta get my creative gears turning here... this is sidebar shit. It's like important you know. So I will work on them as the inspiration strikes me, move 'em around, add some, delete some, whatever.

As if we needed titles on all these pics ~shaking head~ Some of you must be reeling. Just a little extra work, that's all.... :P

There could be other issues that I don't see... if you have anything to add, you are welcome to do so :-)

Missk,Good morning, hope you're feeling better, yes I can see the overlapping pictures you are talking about. In fact I often see that on your blog and others. As long as it doesn't interfere with your script,it doesn't hurt anything, but the pictures don't fit inside the spaces that they are intended for.

Yup, I noticed it the other day on one picture on the sidebar. Just now I added a title, now it doesn't ooze out the side. (Heh, I said "ooze".) Sometimes I wish software guys would just sit on their hands instead of trying to "improve" things.

Most of yours don't have a tittle?

I prefer tittles in the pictures. Big tittles, medium tittles, little tittles. I like them all...........

I noticed that the images are always shifted to the right, there is a bit of margin on the left side. Maybe it is a margins setting in the sidebar?

I don't care for the double wide sidebars. I have to scroll from side to side on my browser to see it all. I use a single sidebar for this reason. I also keep my blogs at an 1100 pixels wide. This gives me plenty of room for a 640 wide post and a 350 wide sidebar.

Soylent Green is always of much assistance. He has tittles on his blog.................
