Yeah, just punching the off button and then throwing the phone against the wall just isn't very satisfying.

God I hope these are not things to look forward too...

But yeah, not to mention from the look of the old phones they could be used as a weapon... Heck you can probably knock someone out with that old phones head set...
Not sure that's possible with the new slick phones unless there is a laser gun app somewhere for Iphone or galaxy...

I hate, don't and won't own an I phone. In fact I will be very happy to go my whole life without a smart ANYTHING. I have an old desktop computer and when it dies will probably never want another. We also don't get cable TV (or any other TV) Having a "pen pal" like you "K" is one of the few things I like about TECH. and one of the few reasons to keep it turned on ---Ray

Ray, let me try to appeal to your sense of reason and God's spirit to change your heart and mind about ipohne or/and smart phones... I agree with you %100 about tv or cable, but not smart phone or iphone...

AS creatures of flesh and blood we have a limited time on this earth... But thanks to God's blessed spirit within everyman on this earth we have made it our task to try to live a safe, healthy, and a comfortable life. For us and our children and family... All of our creation on this earth (Don't forget we are the only creators on this earth) pretty much has these few tasks in them all. Whatever else the creation the above considerations are primary...

So here we are in the 21st century... My iphone allows me to tune my guitar, any guitar at ay moment, anywhere and play it with ease. Because it also teaches and measures development... It give me GPS with a press of button. I also get music, video, flash light, all sort of road side utilities, radio, communication for emergency and otherwise. Latest news and analysis...
Medically there are applications in hospitals and being developed for Iphone that with an easy 30 second scan of your body, doctors can tell you what is out of place, injured, broken, decayed, diseased and how badly...

I can go on and tell you the applications being used and being developed for engineering's, science and medicine, technology and farming, etc... But in the forefront of all of these are these new smart phone technologies...

Us Humans only have so much time on this earth. Yet unlike animals whose primary concern is to eat, sleep and fuck, our spirit pushes us to live and thrive spiritually, to search to learn to serve to no end. Always wanting to build that better mousetrap more comfortable place, safety, good health in our lives... And here we are...

I plea you change your mind and accept this Godly blessing of human creation, with open heart and heavenly grace and warmth. Learn it. Use it as a tool. Let your children and family use it and become comfortable with it... Make it fun of your children hoping someday they may bless their fellow man kind and make it even better and save more lives...
For some day extension of ones life, ones own family's life may depend on these newly created tools...

I hope I was able to change your mind... ;-)

Oh J.Butler, But none of that would help me you see. For I have no musical talent AT ALL. I enjoy not being "in touch with civilization" and sometimes I LIKE to be lost in the wood. I enjoy quiet, peace , and privacy Good food, Ale, old wine and the laughter of children. None of witch are enhanced in any way by microchips.--Ray

I still have one of those dial sets. We still use it in the bedroom.

As a former telephone company employee for thirty years, here's a tip. You need a straight dial tone phone that isn't wireless. If there's a power failure the wireless phones don't work.

RE: JamesButler,Nope,you didn't change my mind,I don't have an iphone because I hate apple.I don't have a smart phone,cause a phone is a tool to make a phone call,nothing more.
I'm happy sitting on my porch with some bourbon and a cigar.
Why are people so anxious to do more and get ahead faster?Up ahead is just like here and now, only you've skipped some steps-slow down and look around once in a while.
