"What if you only had one more day? What are you going to do today?"

Well, after the whole build up on a topic that I honestly REALLY don't like thinking about, THAT line hit me like a ton of bricks in the face.

I both fear my own mortality and intend to live a VERY long time. Thinking about it tends to put me into an introspective spiral.

I'm reminded of another anime I'm currently watching, called "The Sunday Without God." It's a zombie apocalypse story. Since 15 years ago, children are no longer born, and the dead do not die. Heaven and Hell have been sealed off, and are admitting no more souls. The only way to attain a peaceful rest once your body has stopped functioning is to receive a burial from mystics known as the Grave Diggers. The protagonist of the story is a Grave Digger who is only 12 years old, and it begins with her digging the graves for everybody who still lives in her hometown. Just before a man shows up and slaughters them all.

The man turns out to be the young Grave Digger's father, and on the last day of his life, he, too wakes up as a zombie. He spends one more day playing with her as a father, and it's the happiest day of her lift. Then, he has his daughter bury him, so that he can pass on to eternal rest.

I almost didn't get through writing that last paragraph, and I may not get through this one. Once the grave is covered up again, the little girl proceeds to bawl her eyes out.

What would you do if you only had one more day?

I saw this yesterday and sent it to my wife to show at the first day of school. She is excited to get her high school kids to think about priorities. Good vid to share! Good on ya!

I had a hard time with it too Volfram. I've read it before somewhere, but to see it demonstrated like that... let's just say, it gets the point across........

Thank you for sharing Fireguy, I really hope this will be constructive for her students :-) If only more teachers would focus on making their students "Think"...

Your welcome MissK. I might not be posting much but I'm still here everyday..
Another way you could look at how short life is, the average lifespan of a person is 70 to 80 years old. That's only 70 or 80 summers you have to enjoy....Live it up people. Start thinking out of the box..
Thanks MissK for all your GoodMorning pictures, they give me a boost to get my day going.
