What The Fuck!!!

I'm NOT a happy camper right now.... I activated my Google + profile thing so I could use apps on my phone. I put it off for the longest time because I did not want shit to get affected on my blog... and now I tweak something that seems minor, and almost all my pics disappear :-(  What the Hell?!?

I'm sure it has to do with "who sees what" or something of the sort.... I looked through all the settings and can't find it. I just don't need this shit right now. Has this happen to you? Any idea how to fix it?   I'm gonna go look again, and I better find my answer. I just wanted to let y'all know what was going on.......

Out running around all day yesterday....

Hate neglecting the blog :/ Missing y'all.

Good Morning Sunshine :)

I just love old buildings like this. Every time I see one I get this urge to go explore. When I get the chance to, which only happens when I'm alone.... I like to take my time and feel the energy that is unique to each one. Use all of my senses, and take it in, in a way that it stays with me. I find it very cleansing :-)

Perhaps on that day I would marvel at how it was built. How all the different parts fit together. The adage "They don't make 'em like they use to" definitely applies here. I like to consider the thought process of why something is the way it is. How it got it's start. In terms of it's life purpose, the intent with which it was built, the use that come of it and of course how time has affected it, changed it, abused it, weakened it, supported it and shaped it. How the surroundings have grown and transformed around it, making that old building part of the landscape in a way that removing it would be like amputation of a living part.  

Or maybe the purpose of the exploration would be in the hopes of finding a little something insignificant that I can take back with me, something that tells part of "the story". Or maybe even a treasure that is going to waste. Something that the owners would have no issues parting with. A piece that could be restored and displayed in ones living quarters... 

Just a little something to think about ;-)

Happy Hump Day!!

Mother Nature is being Very Moody today. We got more snow overnight and now it's freezing rain. Bitch! It's gonna rain hard all day, then freeze tonight. All the driveways and parking lots will be just like ice rinks for the rest of the winter. Fun. At least Mini Me gets to stay home from school.  And I'm not working out of the house today. I think I'm gonna make a fire and curl up under a blanket until the house warms up.....

Then I'll get busy ;-)

My New Igloo :)

Worked my ass off and finally got her done ;-)

Well then, it's that time of year again. Where everyday yelds fridgid below freezing temps. And since our cold Canadian winter is here to stay, for a few months anyways, I got busy making myself a cozy igloo. I aimed to make it very internet friendly this year. I'm hoping to find more time to post here and there. And if I still can't do it as much as I would like, I just might sick my polar bear on him... ;D

Parent-Teacher Meetings Today :)

Mini Me is currently in 11th grade. And I'm very proud to say she got Rave Reviews. I really enjoyed seeing her interact with her teachers. Made me smile inside to see how confident and charming she was. She's becoming quite the young lady :-)

~ In Honor of November 11th ~

Today is a Special Day. A Day for us to take the time and remember those who have fought for our freedoms. Especially those who have given their lives for us. I know that many Vets browse through my pages, and I am truly honored. Your sacrifice is beyond measure.

I have to add something. Some of you may have been around long enough to know this about me. November 11 is a personal day of mourning for me as it marks the Anniversary of my little brother's passing. It's been 18 years, and some moments are still as fresh as the day it happened. If you've lost a family member, you know all too well how it feels. I'm not gonna go in detail here as I just wanted to mention, but if you are interested, I did write a short story about him last year. Here is The Link.

Back to my Remembrance Day / Veterans Day Post...

I looked for pics that would possibly have special meaning for some of you. I love the ones that show humour and camaraderie. But most of the pics are awesome examples of Human Spirit, Courage and Resiliency. So many untold stories.....

We did get more snow last night, and there's a few inches on the ground. But nothing to be concerned about. And certainly not enough to prevent me from posting.

Something else was on my mind yesterday. I kinda felt like hiding away. Laying low I guess. I did put a Veterans Day/Remembrance Day post together. But I never got to posting it, so I will today. I went looking for pictures, and I found a whole bunch. Even more then what I put in the post. I couldn't pick just a few, so it's a long one. And each and every one of those pictures spoke to me in some way, even if I'm so far from grasping what any of it was really like. I don't think anyone who hasn't lived it can truly understand. I just hope they'll mean something to you. Ultimately that's what I aimed for.....

I got to sleep in some this morning, but my feet hit the ground running. I do like those days when I feel like getting things done. Its cold outside and it snowed a little overnight. It's getting to that point where you know this might be, and probably will be the last day to do certain things. It makes it easy to knock a few things off the To Do List, since all you have time to do is the most important things. And I totally welcome the fact that it does take some of the "overwhelming" away. I don't mind that one bit.

Momentum here I come ;-)

My Accountability Post of the Day...

There's a few different reasons I call this blog My Escape (Mon évasion...). So when I get a bit of free time at home I tend to focus my attention here (Blog ~ Internet ~ Laptop) and forget about "things" for a while. Which is nice, for a few moments... 'till I turn around, or look at my watch. So I'm gonna try a little accountability, like I talked about in my "Time 2 Simplify" Page, to see if it helps me check things off my to do list, and still get some blogging time in my day, like I want. I'm sure this is gonna be trial and error, but hey, I'm in the mood so, here goes... ;-)
