"In 1936, Post Office rules stated that game, including rabbits, could be posted with nothing but a neck label as long as ‘no liquid is likely to exude’."
Where I'm from "the mail man"(or woman) delivered from horse back from the 1860's until the late 1940's. My mother still tells of going to the local post office /general store by wagon and mule when she was a girl.(it was still commonplace when I was a child) ---Most of the roads in the county weren't paved until the 1960's --some weren't paved till the 70's-a few haven't been paved yet. I can remember ordering live chicks threw the mail-dead ones must be a Canada thing.---Ray
I also remember getting chickens in the mail, just little chicks to raise. All the game we shot, we ate. Course in 1936 I wouldn't arrive for another 8 years.
Thank you "K", I felt bad after that comment as I NEVER want to "invade your space". The world view you share with us is the most fun I have with the internet.---Ray

Does it matter whether the rabbit is dead or alive? Good thing it is no longer allowed.
