No luck yet... too cloudy, and the moon is out :(

The link I posted said that they could also be visible early in the morning, especially since the moon will be out of the sky. Hope some of you get a great view :-)

IT was overcast in my part of Kansas too. But I'm at the very edge of the viewable area, so it was going to be iffy anyway.

Delighted to see a post from you MissK.

OH NOOOOO! If we start seeing that this far south the hillbilly preachers will start having 24hr "Jesus watches" and start standing on hill tops waiting for "The rapture". ----Seriously They'll go nuts. The last time we had an A.B. this far south was about 1990 , They stood in the road for DAYS with "Jesus is coming" placards ---Ray

I have been into astrophotography for a good part of my life, and I swear that 90% of the time it will be overcast when some cool event happens!

We just had a glimpse of color. I do want to see them for real at some point. I want to move further north anyways.

My Munchkin sends that she'd like to live in Canada once a year to see the Northern lights and build a snowman. She says the rest of the year we need to live someplace very warm --with a beach!----Ray

Saw the Northern lights once back in 2005, out in western Wisconsin, during bowhunting season, close to the river.
It was around 10pm. It was jaw dropping. Greenish-blueish colors waving in and out never in one spot.
Cool shit man.
