Finally! Light @ The End of The Tunnel

Above freezing? Really? I must be dreaming. I'm not sure what to make of it, all this dripping water and the need to take off layers of clothes in the spur of the moment. One thing is certain though, this is definitely a glimmer of hope that spring really does exist.

The sun is shinning outside and I have to take it in. I'm heading back out in a few for an extra dose of Vitamin D. This damn cabin fever has gone on long enough.

I've been busy moving snow all morning, slicing a trench in boob height, really dense snow drifts to gain access to the storage cabin in the back of the lot. The lady next door is moving out, and she needed to get her shit out, asap. So I volunteered to take care of it. What I wouldn't do for a body rub right now. I will be stiff in the morning, that's for sure. Now, I'm all done with the trench, and gave her a hand lugging the bins to her car. I should stay in and relax, but I can't help myself, I have to go back.... it's sunny!! And warm!! ;-)

For some unknown reason, Blogger has tweaked it's settings and now EVERYONE making a comment, including myself is presumed a robot. I do monitor my comments to filter out the trolls and crappy annoying spam, but this "Capshit" setting is set to OFF, and I did not change it. I checked, it's still off. And for the fuck of it, as this is sometimes the fix in this "sensible" computer world we live in, I turned it on. Saved it. Went back to the settings, and turned if off again. Hey, sometimes it clears up the glitch. Not this time, and it seems alot of bloggers are dealing with it. It's no big deal really, but it is annoying as hell....

When you, and all the neighbors have been shoveling since the wee hours, yet everyone is still buried under piles of snow. And of course, the plow has us last on the list. Fun times. Someday, soon I hope, I'll be relocating to a much warmer place ;-)

Two Snow Days in the First Week

They canceled school again yesterday. That's 2 days off this week?? Monday felt like a blizzard, but it really wasn't all that bad yesterday. I'm still glad they canceled since her class had a road trip planned.

I do wonder how many days off we'll get this time around, considering 2 was about all we got in total last winter. There's an English district and a French district here in town. The English schools got spoiled and had many days off, while my daughter's school stayed in session. Wasn't really fair since we all live in the same general area. So why is it different this winter? Maybe somebody got spanked ;-)

The days seem to be going by so fast lately.

It's a double edged sword...

We had our first winter storm over the weekend.... fall is no more :(  Reminded me that I'm missing a few Canadian basics, some of which got lost in "Transition". Warm gloves and an ice breaker are a definite must. Perhaps a little compensation for going cold turkey on the wood chopping ;-)

Moving Forward... A Little Faster... ;)

I went on the prowl a few days ago and stumbled on this neat idea on how to get things done. It's simple really, but when you feel somewhat overwhelmed by all that needs to get done for your life to keep moving in the direction you want, the simpler it is, the better.

The Perks of "Still" Living in The Shack...

"WE" caught another mouse. That's 5 in a row now. One per day. He did his part.... opened the cabinet door and gazed at it for a few seconds... I'm assuming by cocking his head to the side, wondering if the dead mouse in the trap was the same one who spoke to him last night while he slept. Excited at the prospect that all that hard work is finally paying off.... Seeking revenge on the little motherfuckers is much sweeter when all you do is open the cabinet door the next day to wonder if the fallen rodent smooshed before you is a different one then the one you had contemplated in the trap the day before, then you realize it's been mutilated in a whole different way. Yep, we caught another. Time to close the door. "WE did a good job", HE says..... Umm Hmmm....
