Nothing is more precious than a new life. There is always a way to cope with the unexpected and that is by asking God for guidance and listening for his answer. He will not answer to your ears but to your heart. How you respond to that guidance given will be written in the book of life for further review.
Just want to second what Rebecca said. Can't speak for the lawyers involved, bu I'm a lawyer, and almost all of the lawyers I know and work with want to do the right thing for their clients, especially where children are involved. didn't say all lawyers, just almost all.
