I'm Embarrassed ~ Part II

Follow up to my previous "I'm embarrassed" Post...

Thank God not everyone thinks like this, but here is a very typical Canadian reaction after reading opinions of people who don't follow the media blindly....

I was over at the neighbor's yesterday afternoon. We were talking about general things and she mentions she and her husband watched the debate the night before. I had no intentions of butting heads with her, but I was very curious about her "opinions" ...I guess, of the general population, because all they know about it, is what the media spews out.

She felt Romney "looked" untrustworthy... and she couldn't say his name right ?? And the lady use to be an english teacher for fuck's sake, anyways, that's besides the point. Then she starts to talk about Buh-rock and goes "Well it's true, Obama did what he said he would do, he ended the war, he saved GM, he created new jobs, he was handed a country that was already falling apart, I think he did his best". I pretended to be neutral so she would remain candid... but I had to find at least one thing she could relate to that would make her see some truth instead of his true lies.

Then it hit me.. the spending. One thing I know her and her hubby are very bothered by is when our Canadian politicians go on vacation using our dime. So I told her about Camp David and what the Obama's do instead.. like where he was this past weekend... oh now she wanted to bitch...  but I doubt very much this would change her opinion because they watch the news for "fact" ~ehem~ bullshit, all the time. And even if I tried to give facts to show what a crappy job he's done so far, and why 4 more years would be a very bad thing, she would explain it away with the blame game as they all do.

Now this is frustrating as hell, but we don't have an election in a few weeks, days.... but you guys do :( and I am very concerned, of what could happen if this man gets another term....

Oooo Tough Guy!!

It is very difficult to de-program a mainstreamer. I grew up in Seattle and was a good little socialist along with 90% of the population in the area. It took the 9/11 attacks and the democrat's USA-blaming to clue me in.

I went to the other extreme believing that it was possible to export democracy until I read Oriana Fallaci's books on Islam. The TSA, DHS, the Patriot Act also taught me that the majority of Mainstream Republicans were little better.

It's okay, sweetie. We're up to our happy whoo-haws in Demo-dumbasses down here. At least we don't have to worry about your neighbors voting for him too.
