Good Morning Sunshine :)

I just love old buildings like this. Every time I see one I get this urge to go explore. When I get the chance to, which only happens when I'm alone.... I like to take my time and feel the energy that is unique to each one. Use all of my senses, and take it in, in a way that it stays with me. I find it very cleansing :-)

Perhaps on that day I would marvel at how it was built. How all the different parts fit together. The adage "They don't make 'em like they use to" definitely applies here. I like to consider the thought process of why something is the way it is. How it got it's start. In terms of it's life purpose, the intent with which it was built, the use that come of it and of course how time has affected it, changed it, abused it, weakened it, supported it and shaped it. How the surroundings have grown and transformed around it, making that old building part of the landscape in a way that removing it would be like amputation of a living part.

Or maybe the purpose of the exploration would be in the hopes of finding a little something insignificant that I can take back with me, something that tells part of "the story". Or maybe even a treasure that is going to waste. Something that the owners would have no issues parting with. A piece that could be restored and displayed in ones living quarters...

Just a little something to think about ;-)

Something To Think About....

The Knockout Game ~ Nothing New :(

Article by Kate Abercrombie @ Politi Chicks.

The mainstream media, once again late to the party, is finally waking up to the popular urban pastime, the Knockout Game. Well, at least a little bit. FOX News is talking about it, and some local affiliates of the mainstream stations are reporting about it, especially if it is happening in their area. The problem is that this “new phenomena” is not so new and has been around for at least a couple of years.
The Knockout Game is played by urban teens who get a point if they are able to take out an unsuspecting passer-by with one punch. These attacks are often videotaped and can be found on You-Tube. The sucker punch causes serious injuries and even death for some victims. If the attacker is not able to knock out the victim, he and his posse often attack the victim, beating him severely and robbing him (or her.)
The mainstream media (if they are reporting it at all) are treating this phenomenon as something new, but it has been around for at least a couple of years. Colin Flaherty, author of White Girl Bleed a Lot: the Return of Racial Violence to America, described the game in his book in 2011. What has changed is that the media, to some extent, is taking notice.
What the mainstream media are loath to do, however, is to point out the racial aspect of this game. The Knockout Game is largely a Black on White crime...

Innocent Pussy? I Think Not!

Literally!!

Sad But True :/

And there's no dot on the "i"s.... Grrrr
