I did not look at my thumb. I already know how long it is as I use it for measuring stuff already. First finger from tip to first crease is exactly one inch by the way. Really useful data when working on wood or blacksmithing.
I haven't looked at my thumb yet. Have to wait for a point that I can take my pants off.
I did check my index finger with a AA-sized battery(they're about 2 inches long) and final crease to fingertip is slightly longer than 1 inch. By 2 or 3 mm.

Actually, I was looking at my Johnson, wondering what happened to the rest of it!!
It just didn't measure up until I measured both thumbs and added the two together ;-)
