Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving :-)
I went on a little road trip with my daughter yesterday.
You could call it a scavenger hunt I guess....
I wanted a large areal view picture of the general area where my little plot of land stands. Roughly a few square miles. The lady pulled out different years for me to look at, dating back about 75 years. It was quite fascinating to look at... Reminded me of flying with my dad in his little Cessna plane years ago. (STORY) I could never forget. Back to yesterday, she kept my choices on file, so I could get more done later on, if I wanted to. For now, I picked out a 20 by 20 from 1955. I should get it in about a week. I was expecting to see more trees then are currently in the area now, but to my surprise, it was almost all farm land. Interesting how things evolve.... I'm looking forward to "flying over" the picture as it hangs on my wall.
We also did a little Christmas shopping, then Mini Me and I went to a late lunch, her pick of course. The day was passing by pretty quickly, and I wanted to have enough time to visit an Antique Shop nearby. I had never been there and was hoping to find some hooks and vintage metal hardware for projects I wanna make. No luck there, all I grabbed was a set of vintage cookie cutters and a tin container to burn a candle in. Lots to look at, but prices were a bit steep. Still glad I took the detour to go, I always get inspiration from these places.
Two more stops to make, I had found a lady who had leftover pavers for cheap, so I went to get those, making sure to leave enough room in the crossover to pick up steel rims for my daughter's car on the way home, 2:30 hours away. Car was getting heavy but I still made it on less then a tank of gas, to and back. Speaking of heavy, when we were at the mall, I met a very strange individual....
We walked in and I noticed someone standing at the pay phones with a huge backpack. It had everything but the kitchen sink attached to it. Honestly, I had to look around the pile to find the human. All I could see was legs sticking out. Later on, I see him sitting at a bench, with his stash sitting on the neighboring bench. I told my daughter, I'm itching to find out where this guy has been, looks like he had been trekking all over the countryside. So I went over to say hey, and ask him. His response was a little odd. He says "I get that alot, I'm actually from town here, I just do it for sheer convenience" ....okidokie LOL Perhaps he was a homeless person, but he was clean, well dressed and well groomed. Not to mention on his smartphone, charging up in the mall. Maybe it was his version of living off the grid. Sheer convenience?? I really shoulda took a picture...
No worries, love! We Yanks never expect you Canadians to keep Thanksgiving day straight anyway! Heh.
