I was surfing for Cabin Porn, and came across this little gem.
Pretty cool to see what some people can do
with a daydream and a few friends ;-)
More pictures below the break...
If you're curious, here's a video of "The Making"
They have a website "The Cinder Cone"
A daydream,a few friends,and a lot of money....
ReplyDeleteI have built or helped build some pretty damned elaborate deer stands back before these new platform models became popular. Nothing livable mind you but a couple that wouldn't have taken much more to make it so. The thing I can never figure out is how they deal with the flex of the tree. Even a couple hundred year old oaks will sway in the winds we get down here and I never saw a deer stand that didn't take some serious damage due to wind sway and flex from one year to the next. I notice most of these tree house/cabin things are now built as single platforms around a trunk I am assuming they have some sort of sway buffer built into the supports and are made like a doughnut with the trunk not actually touching the cabin.
ReplyDeleteFor some reason all the videos I see about them seem to carefully avoid the center sections.
I like that ladder!
ReplyDeleteLiving and having fun
ReplyDeleteThe way it should be
