The "picture" is becoming clearer ;-)
I've been doing research this past week.
Lots and lots of thinking, sketching and calculating.
I'm working to figure out how best to utilize my little woodlot,
in a timely manner, to shape the life I want.
What I know for sure:
My resources are limited at the moment.
I wanna use my skills to earn income, on my terms.
Practical, useful and realistic is way more appealing then bling.
Day by day, things are taking shape :-)
~ I will share more on the topic, as things progress ~
Little update in the comments ;-)
Keep plugin' away, one step at a time, and it will all come together! ;-)

While you're thinking about it,gives us some clues, maybe some of us have tips and suggestions to help. You never know;we might have some good ideas.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!!
Mon dieu! The igloo has melted! Are you homeless?
ReplyDeleteSounds like things are coming together for you. That's always good to hear!
Well, questions; Derived from other posts. Do you want to build a house that is "all yours" on your wood lot? Do you have the skill set to build your "little house in the wood"? Can you access the resources to build it? and last. What can we do to help? ---Ray
ReplyDeleteThe igloo will be back, Proof... this is Canada, eh ;-)
ReplyDeleteThat's the way I see it, Bob :-)
Billf, at this point, my plans are still a little too vague to ask for tips... but I will be needing some advice soon enough. I know most of you have been through this before, I would be a fool not to ask ;-)
Ray, yes I do, to your first question, but I'll have to be patient for it. Phase One is to build myself a little workshop. I wanna do as much as I can on my own, but I think it's very important that the structural parts are done by someone with proven experience. And as I mentioned to Billf, I will be asking for advice, because I really want this to come together the way I see it in my mind.
P.S. It means a lot you guys wanna help :-)
Good morning Miss K.
ReplyDeleteI went through something very similar around 6 years ago, I also had a wood lot, an 18 acre parcel, where I built a nice little home in the woods, with the main living space on the second level and the ground level being a 2 car garage and a small rental apartment for those 'rainy days'. It has worked out great. It has been a focused project, but I have no regrets
Have you gone outside for the summer?----Ray
ReplyDeleteAs much as I can Ray ;-)
ReplyDeleteI've been avoiding my laptop for a little while. I get distracted easily sometimes, and I really need to focus on a few "life" projects at the moment. My daughter's graduation is just around the corner. Many changes are coming :-)
I'll come back to posting as soon as I get a few of the plates spinning on their own....
Anon, thanks for sharing. I find it very satisfying to pull this off from scratch ;-)
