Timbo, Yu are correct, the mountains in the background are part of the Alps... A google search of the picture indicates that it was originally taken from a site CityNightLine transit line of Europe... CNL is a Swiss night train service that runs in Germany, Netherlands, Austria, Denmark, etc...
Oh, And no, that is not a McD's golden arch... If you zoom into the picture you'll see it is a five or six story hotel with two arched entrance...
