Yes it does look and is hot and humid... The kind that can burn red freckling skin. after couple hours.
Greenbow, I too don't last more than few weeks in hot tropical beaches and shores... My body and skin can't handle it. But when you live a thousand miles north of MissK igloo, 50 degree sunny day is a total rarity, from October to January, to March, to May... Long cold dark winters. So Yes, we do become envious of such sunny places, but only in the winter six months...
Where ever we go, we always come back north for the summer. Well, if we can...
