OMG ~ Sunshine !!!

The last bit of snow
is still gripping for dear life in the backwoods.
I'm about to take my damn flamethrower
out for a trek :/

The sun feels really awesome though,
and I'm back to properly setting up my shop,
and cleaning up the woodlot & yard.
More soon :-)

Happy Easter !!

Hope y'all are having a nice weekend :-)

Had to stop in for a post.

I'm not sure if the carrot is for me, or you guys.
Maybe a little of both ;-)

For now... Yes I'm ok.
And no, I'm not quitting the blog. Just on hold.

To simplify, I've hit a few bumps in the road, where the "expected" smooth transition of my blog from past to present is concerned. Starting over, or better yet, having the opportunity the follow the path you've always longed for, sometimes leaves you a bit disoriented. I'm on the right track, just meandering a little....

I don't mind, the view is beautiful, I just want more of it ;-)

'Tis The Season

Merry Christmas Everyone !!!

My apologies for being a little fickle with my postings lately.
Previous habits, among other things, have been a tad off kilter.
But no worries... I'm a gonna figure it out :P

Headed Back to Canada...

Loaded up
& ready to hit the road in the morning.

Good Morn.. uh, I mean, Afternoon !!

A few more days, and I'm headed back home.

I've been keeping an eye on things from a distance...
Everything is fine, but the house does look lonely.

After I get back home and settled in, I gotta hit the ground
running again. Winter is just around the corner.
Yippee!... Not :/

That does mean, a few things on the to do list have to be taken care of asap. For one, I need a back porch. I'll be honest though, as far as moving stuff in, boob height access has made things a little simpler. No steps to climb, just a willing helper on the inside grabbing things. I would like better access over the snowy months though. I won't fret over it if I don't have time to complete it before the white stuff comes in, but I'll give it a shot.

All I need back there is 4' x 4' with the steps going along the house. Someone with experience would have it done in a few hours I'm sure. I'll have to give myself a few days with my limited experience. I did build the front porch all by myself ~ grin. And I think it turned out pretty good. I still have to board up the sides to hide the framing, but that can wait. Here's a night time glimpse of it...

Not bad for a first attempt, eh ;-)

Bestowed Waterfall

Mother Nature works in Mysterious Ways,
or should I say:
You just might get it.

Not mine... "yet" ;-)

Just Chillin'

Somewhere in Canada

Take Flight

Jack brought up the story I wrote a few years ago, about flying with my father in his plane. I had to read it again.
That "moment in time" is definitely one of my favorite.

My Dad's Plane (one of 'em)

This is the picture I have on my sidebar, so it's not very clear.
I have more at home I could post, but since I'm not there for a while,
I had to settle for this one ;-)

Trippy Thursday

~ Lightning striking a plane inside a rainbow ~

Captured by Birk Mobius

Hey Tony, Should I Feed This Guy? ;)

I took this picture back in June, a few days after starting excavation with my backhoe guy. There were a lot of deer tracks too, but this guy was the biggest critter to visit that night. I set up a trail cam after that, no luck yet. I'll be sure to share when I do get a few good pics out of it.

And yes, that's my big ol' steel toe rubber boot you see there.
...My Woodlot Slippers ;-)
