Is it just me, or sometimes when you turn on the news or look at a newspaper or magazine do you ever feel like you’re smack dab in the middle of an episode of the Twilight Zone? I mean I know we conservatives know what is going on, but unfortunately there is a large percentage of the country who are just not paying any attention at all, and to those people all I have to say is shame on you.
Shame on you for knowing who the contestants in the Big Brother House or on American Idol are, but not having any clue what Scandal-palooza is. Benghazi, the IRS targeting Conservative groups, the Justice Department probing the AP?… How is it that on the anniversary of the horrific attacks on our nation on 9/11 our U.S. Ambassador and three servicemen are barbarically murdered and no one in the media gives a flying flip?
CNN Anchors Pretend They're Having A "Satellite Interview"
Even Though They're In The Same Parking Lot.
“Sorry, we’re experiencing a delay in the broadcast while we both wait for this bus to go by.”
"It seems that Grace and Banfield are sitting in the same parking lot, facing in the same direction, and judging by the speed of the vehicles in their shots, they cannot be sitting more than 30 feet away from each other. Yet, they're behaving as if the are on opposite sides of the world. Here's an artist's representation of the warp in space time punditry."
Angel wrote this post, over on her Blog (The Lonely Libertarian). I think these words can bring insight and perspective to a lot of people, they did for me... So I'm sharing her post with you all today. Take away from it what you will......
The Coming Storm
About four years ago, on a muggy May afternoon, we had a booger of a storm headed our way down out of the New Mexico mountains. High humidity, unstable atmosphere, tornado heaven. The spousal unit was at work, the kids were in school, Charlie was cowering in the bathtub, and I grabbed my sweet tea and headed out to the deck. Turning my favorite chair to the west, I tipped back and rested my boots on the railing, ready for some serious storm watching.
With that said..... "Your Prize" does not come for free... ;-)
So I went on the hunt... doing a little detective work to see if I could find anything "interesting" to share... you know those pics... the ones you wish you could just burn!!
So I found out that as a child you had a very unique fashion sense....
I would like to add my own Hugs and Thank you to Wirecutter. From whom I also learned so much. Mostly about being true to myself, and not letting others bring me down. You inspired me to start my own blog, especially since you wouldn't post the stuff I would send you :P'' ' well you did post a few ;-)
I will miss going over to your blog for a daily dose of laughs or shock factor. But what I'll miss the most are your words. You have a way with them that paints a picture and makes your readers feel like they're right there with you.. that is an amazing gift. I will miss you, and your presence in the blog world. If you choose to return at some point, you will be welcomed with open arms. And if you choose not to, know you have so many people around the world who think so much of you. Take care of yourself, escape to your beautiful Sonora Pass as often as you can... I hope this time away will help you heal. Now, go get them big-ass trouts and coyotes and come home with a smile :-)
And the lucky chap is none other then Tripseven ;-)
"Tell it like it is Angel! I enjoy your comments for that alone...
plus the sarc hehe.
Too many folks hold back cuz they are afraid of how they will be perceived by their "peers." THIS is how we end up confusing "tolerance" for nothing other than coward-ism!"
This is Perfectly Fitting since my Dear friend Angel has just lauched her own blog :D I'm trilled for her... and for us.. because now we can get our daily dose of her sarc as you put it Tripseven... and all the passion and conviction that I so love in her rantings.
Firearm aficionado Andrew Tuohy has filmed himself firing a range of weapons, but never before underwater.
The gun expert has posted a series of images, as well as a video, to his blog Vuurwapen to show the different effect each gun has in his swimming pool.
After being triggered, a tornado forms at the end of the gun for a few short seconds before the bullet sinks down to the bottom and surrounding bubbles float to the surface.
But Mr Tuohy isn't just firing the guns for fun, he collects the bullets to make 'tactical flowers' for his mother.
The resistance of the water causes the bullet to expand in perfect formation, creating beautiful lead blossoms.
'As pretty as this stuff is to look at, it is also painful - I have plenty of scars from being sliced and poked by metal objects, but holding those bullets in my hand almost made me shiver,' he said.
'I would definitely not want to get shot by any of that stuff.'
He experiments with different bullets and guns to create different effects, claiming the results possessed an 'evil beauty.'
He also soldered the 'flowers' onto some 'stems' to complete the effect.
An avid gemstone collector, he then added precious stones to the center of the bullets, rendering them almost unrecognizable. Read more.
Just had to add this pic from his Facebook. His FB link is at the end of the article if anyone is interested in looking him up, along with his blog, that I linked right above the AR video.
His Caption on the pic below : This is my "Listen, don't buy crappy guns" face. And hand gesture.
Love this guy :D
From his blog... "Those who take a myopic view of trigger modifications, for example, often render firearms unreliable (light strikes, failure or inability to reset) or dangerous (disabling or reducing the effectiveness of internal safety mechanisms). This is not to say that all trigger-related modifications are bad - magazine disconnects, for example, are dumb. However, if something sounds too good to be true, such as a 1911-like trigger in a Glock, then it most likely is (I have two requirements for a carry firearm - that it work when I want it to, and that it not randomly shoot my balls off when I'm running, jumping, and climbing trees)."
;-)
Thanks to WiscoDave for the link to The Underwater Article :-)
AngryMike turned me on to this blog, and I would like to share it with all of you... So worth a regular visit. This Lady is truly inspired, her side bar is amazingly revealing.... See for yourself.. Visit her BLOG (Predictable History, Unpredictable Past) Here is a small sample of what you can find there.... I picked out a few things that jumped out at me, some very questionable quotes and Vintage Posters that she does...
