British WW2 "Cromwell" tank. 1943-1945. Armed with a 57 MM main gun (smallest gun in service in 1943) Paper thin armor and gasoline engine made this thing a death trap for commonwealth tank crews. It says a lot that Canada adopted the M-4A1 "Sherman"/ "Grizzly Mk1" (known to the Germans as the "Tommy Cooker") to replace it. If you want to know how badly Commonwealth and Dominion tankers had it in WW2 look up "operation Goodwood" That's the battle where the Brits and Canadians lost 400 tanks in one day to a handful of German 88 MM Anti-tank guns. But I warn you that the shear horror of what the poor bastards faced will bring tears.---Ray
